Stunning Upset: Kansas State Destroys Iowa State's Impressive Home Streak

Dug McDaniel scored 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting as Kansas State stunned No. 3 Iowa State with an 80-61 win in a Big 12 Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in Ames, Iowa.

The Cyclones had won 23 consecutive home games before Kansas State came to town, and this was the first time in six outings that Iowa State failed to score at least 70 points.

Iowa State was led by Jaren Holmes, who had 15 points and eight rebounds. The Cyclones shot just 32.2 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from 3-point range.

Kansas State jumped out to an early lead, taking a 14-4 advantage just over five minutes into the contest.

The Cyclones threatened to get back into the game but were unable to overcome their poor shooting.

Kansas State now sits alone in third place in the Big 12, while Iowa State remains in first place despite the loss.

This win for Kansas State could have major implications for the rest of the season, as it looks to make a push for the conference title.
