Texas Man Charged with Stalking WNBA Star Caitlin Clark in Shocking Case of Harassment

January 14, 2025

Authorities in Indianapolis have charged a 55-year-old Texas man with felony stalking of Indiana Fever star and WNBA rookie of the year Caitlin Clark. Michael Thomas Lewis is accused of repeated and continued harassment of the 22-year-old Clark beginning on Dec. 16, the Marion County prosecutor’s office wrote in a court filing Saturday.

Jail records show that Lewis was booked into the Marion County Jail and is currently being held without bond. The charges against him are serious and could result in significant prison time if convicted.

The case against Lewis is still ongoing, but details are beginning to emerge about the alleged stalking. According to court documents, Lewis began harassing Clark on Dec. 16, and the harassment continued until his arrest. The nature of the harassment is not specified in the court filings, but it is clear that Clark felt threatened and scared by Lewis’s actions.

Clark is a rising star in the WNBA, having been named the rookie of the year after a stellar first season with the Indiana Fever. She is known for her incredible talent on the court, as well as her charming personality off the court. The news of the stalking charges has sent shockwaves through the sports world, with many of Clark’s fans and fellow players expressing outrage and support for the young athlete.

The Indiana Fever organization has released a statement saying that they are taking the situation seriously and are working to ensure Clark’s safety and well-being. The team has also increased security measures to protect Clark and other players from similar incidents in the future.

The case against Lewis serves as a reminder of the importance of taking stalking and harassment seriously. Stalking is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences for the victim, and it is not something to be taken lightly. The fact that Lewis was able to continue harassing Clark for an extended period of time is a concern, and it highlights the need for increased awareness and education about stalking and harassment.

As the case against Lewis continues to unfold, many are left wondering how this could have happened and what can be done to prevent similar incidents in the future. One thing is clear: the safety and well-being of athletes like Caitlin Clark must be taken seriously, and those who engage in stalking and harassment must be held accountable for their actions.
