The One Thing the World Has Been Waiting for the Most Has Finally Been Revealed

We have looked at some amazing prophecies in the Old Testament, and then the meticulous fulfillment of these prophecies in the New Testament, in regards to the promised Savior of the world. According to gotquestions.org, the Bible contains over 2,500 prophecies, with about 2,000 of them already fulfilled. That's an astonishing fulfillment rate of around 80%. These prophecies were communicated through various prophets, like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the Twelve Minor Prophets, spanning hundreds of years. Given the vast array of details these prophecies entailed, one would expect contradictions, discrepancies, and unfulfilled predictions. Yet, this has not been the case. The exact opposite holds true: the prophecies have been realized with amazing accuracy. One obvious question comes to mind: How was it possible for individuals who were separated by vast spans of time and space to deliver such a wide range of predictions with this level of consistency?

For any astute observer of biblical prophecy, an initial step to recognizing the magnitude of hope inherent in these prophecies and their corresponding fulfillment begins by understanding what hope means. In the everyday parlance, we frequently get the connotation that hope translates to crossed fingers and is tantamount to good luck. However, genuine hope as conveyed in the Word is altogether different from this shallow definition. Instead, underpinned by faith and an underlying trust in God's sovereignty, genuine hope is deep-seated confidence which underlies our anticipation of deliverance from hardships. Based on this understanding, the authenticity of the prophecies reveals a multifaceted portrait of an enduring truth rooted in the soul of the human experience.
