The fun series Colin From Accounts is part raunchy comedy part romantic comedy part friendship story and part very cute dog As we await the second season of the show on Paramount we are reminded of the unique chance encounter that started it all With its blend of genres the show initially seems confusing but rest assured the beautiful cohesion of these elements makes for a hilarious and heartwarming series
For the uninitiated the show begins with a romantic comedy clich what happens when two strangers Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall literally collide heads in a chance encounter However despite the clich the series quickly morphs into a complex dance of relationships as Patrick and Harriet reluctantly take on joint responsibility for the adorable dog whose life they are now inexplicably entwined with
The series is full of fun comedic moments ranging from embarrassing confrontations through to flat out silly conversations The dialogue is hilarious as are the comedic performances by the actors And just when viewers expect a laugh and comedic respite the story has the capacity to take a darker more soulful turn beautifully capturing the depth of human emotion
Throughout the series Harriet and Patrick take time to figure out how to navigate their lives while trying to keep the focus on the needs of their co dependent canine friend Life has a way of unfolding as it does and by degrees they form a strange and quirky bond though you know it was never supposed to happen like that
One beautiful aspect of the show is that it explores the concept of love hate and friendship with complexity and depth Every frame you look at reveals you something honest something authentic and genuine beyond what it can be reduced to But Colin From Accounts goes far beyond merely representing Harriet and Patricks unlikely match Colin From Accounts reveals how our relationships revolve around our common relationships the way shared connections come close to defining who we are and are perceived by others whether and where we have friends
One more factor greatly contributes to the charm of the show an adorable dog Despite what the canine brings about the show is part a cute dog We say it is because he absolutely is In spite of the clich that all dog stories must have we truly believe this and can see the same from the acting duo Speaking of comedy this love dog a very cute dog named Colin
The fun series Colin From Accounts is more than just part romantic comedy or a cute dog show Although these themes comprise part of the show we sense its complexity evolving from its multi genre makeups It is a story about friendships of dog lovers the way the humans will look at this canine being as truly something more than the thing they share and love
