Tua Tagovailoa Set to Face Surging Rams: Will He End the Dolphins' Losing Streak?

November 8, 2024

Revived over their past three games, the Los Angeles Rams will get to show off their new look when they play host to the Miami Dolphins on Monday night at Inglewood, Calif. The Rams (4-4) are on a three-game winning streak and are looking to extend their dominance against a struggling Dolphins team that has not won a game since Tua Tagovailoa got injured.

The Dolphins (3-6) had high hopes for this season but everything took a turn for the worse when Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion injury that left him side-lined for several weeks. The team was unable to maintain their rhythm and therefore lost three straight games to further compound their woes.

With Tua Tagovailoa back, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is optimistic that his team can start to win games again. Tua has been cleared for contact and has resumed practicing, which should come as a huge relief to Dolphins fans. The young quarterback had been impressive in the opening games before his unfortunate injury that shook the entire Dolphins franchise.

McDaniel now wants Tua to focus more on this game against the Rams than the overall outcome of their campaign. Tagovailoa can very well turn this around once he gets going. That means getting back on form and extending the Dolphins' chances of making a major comeback this season.

McDaniel, however, is pragmatic about his captain's recovery and doesn't want to put too much pressure on him, explaining that losing three consecutive games often has that impact and one victory could probably set things rolling in terms of restoring team morale.

The Rams' recent resurgence has inspired newfound confidence in quarterback Matthew Stafford, who threw for three touchdowns and an interception in a comeback win over Tampa Bay last week. It's no secret that Stafford's display has lifted the entire team, as their coach Kevin O'Connell puts it.

With their most promising season now hanging by a thread, the win-starved Dolphins will face renewed opposition on Monday from the Rams, who continue to soar with their newly acquired form. McDaniel keeps emphasizing the urgent need for the Dolphins to rally, face reality and just come out swinging with a win against the resurgence of the Los Angeles Rams.
