UConn Unleashes Fury on Providence in Epic 77-40 Blowout

Azzi Fudd scored all of her 17 points in the third quarter on Sunday as No. 5 UConn cruised to a 77-40 road win over Providence.

Paige Bueckers tallied 20 points and Ashlynn Shade chipped in 12 for the Huskies, who rebounded from their recent loss in grand fashion.

The game was essentially over by halftime, with UConn holding a commanding 42-15 lead. Providence struggled to find any rhythm on offense, while the Huskies were clicking on all cylinders.

Fudd's 17-point outburst in the third quarter was the exclamation point on a dominant performance by the Huskies. She made a series of big shots, including several three-pointers, to help UConn pull away.

Bueckers, meanwhile, was her usual dominant self, directing the UConn offense with precision and scoring from all over the court. Shade, a key contributor off the bench, provided a spark with her 12 points.

For Providence, the loss was a tough one to swallow. The Friars struggled to contain UConn's high-powered offense, and their own offense was unable to find any traction.

Despite the lopsided score, Providence coach noted that his team had some positive moments, but they were simply outnumbered by the more talented Huskies.

UConn's win was a statement victory, proving that they are still a force to be reckoned with in the world of women's college basketball. With Fudd, Bueckers, and Shade leading the charge, the Huskies are looking to make a deep run in the postseason.

The Huskies will look to build on this momentum as they head into their next game, while Providence will try to regroup and bounce back from the tough loss.
