Apple has officially unveiled its latest iPhone 16 series at a highly anticipated event, bringing with it not only a set of new devices but also a series of significant price cuts on its older models in the Indian market. This move has caused a stir among iPhone enthusiasts and general consumers alike, as it presents an exciting opportunity for those looking to upgrade their devices without breaking the bank.
The price reduction affects previous models such as the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and the iPhone 14. With this development, buyers in India will now have access to these devices at more affordable prices. In fact, Apple India has adjusted the prices in line with the latest announcements, making the devices an even more attractive option for Indian consumers.
It's worth noting that this price drop comes after the Indian government previously lowered customs duties on mobile phones and mobile PCBs from 20 per cent to 15 per cent in July. As a result, certain models such as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 have received a reduction of Rs 10,000 across their 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB variants.
Moreover, it appears that the previous flagship models, namely the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, have been removed from Apple’s listings in order to make way for the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These new models boast a significant Rs 15,000 price cut, which can be attributed to domestic assembly in India's factories.
Below is a breakdown of the revised prices in India:
Model | Old MRP (INR) | New MRP (INR) |
iPhone 14 128GB | 69,600 | 59,900 |
iPhone 14 256GB | 79,600 | 69,900 |
iPhone 14 512GB | 99,600 | 89,900 |
iPhone 15 128GB | 79,600 | 69,900 |
iPhone 15 256GB | 89,600 | 79,900 |
iPhone 15 512GB | 1,06,600 | 99,900 |
iPhone 15 Plus 128GB | 89,600 | 79,900 |
iPhone 15 Plus 256GB | 99,600 | 89,900 |
iPhone 15 Plus 512GB | 1,19,600 | 1,09,900 |
It's essential to note that while Apple sets a standard maximum retail price (MRP), customers can often find even more competitive deals from third-party retailers, especially during major sales events.
With significant sales like the Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival expected to kick off in early October, potential buyers might want to hold off on their purchases to take advantage of further discounts. After all, waiting a bit longer could lead to even greater savings, making the latest iPhone models an even more attractive option for Indian consumers.
