West Virginia Unleashes Crushing Ground Game That Leaves Oklahoma State Reeling

Jahiem White and the West Virginia Mountaineers stormed into Stillwater, Oklahoma, with one objective in mind: to dismantle the Oklahoma State Cowboys with a crushing display of power running. And dismantle them they did, with White rushing for an impressive 158 yards and a touchdown as the visiting Mountaineers sprinted to a dominant 38-14 victory.

The Mountaineers’ offense looked almost unstoppable from the opening whistle, with White breaking tackles and pounding out big gains on the ground to spearhead a relentless West Virginia attack. The Oklahoma State defense was left grasping at air as White and his cohorts compiled a staggering 389 yards on the ground.

With the Mountaineers’ running game firing on all cylinders, quarterback JT Daniels was able to operate with ease, content to hand the ball off to his electric tailback and watch the magic unfold. The passing game did make an occasional cameo, but for the most part, the Mountaineers were happy to keep the ball on the ground and let their athletic backfield do the heavy lifting.

The Oklahoma State offense, meanwhile, struggled to find any semblance of rhythm against a stern West Virginia defense. The home team’s passing attack was spotty at best, and the running game was bottled up by a physical Mountaineers defensive front that refused to yield.

Thanks to their crushing 24-point win, the Mountaineers were able to avenge their loss to the Cowboys from a year ago, sending a clear signal that they will not be taken lightly in the Big 12 this season. And as for White, he cemented his status as one of the top running backs in the conference, further solidifying his chances of being a household name by season’s end.
