BIG CHANGES COMING: Canadiens Set to Make Earth-Shattering Moves in 2024-25

October 26, 2024

As the 2024-25 NHL season approaches, the Montreal Canadiens are making headlines with their off-season plans. With a plethora of young talent and a eagerness to reclaim their spot as a top contender in the league, the Habs are ready to make some significant moves.

Rumours are swirling that the Canadiens are looking to add some much-needed star power to their lineup, and it’s no secret that the team is high on a few key players on the free agent market. With the likes of veterans Joe Pavelski and Evander Kane potentially on the table, the Habs faithful are excited at the prospect of adding some scoring punch to their roster.

According to sources close to the team, the Canadiens are also looking to bolster their defense, with a number of top free agent blueliners set to become available. The likes of Viktor Hedman and Alec Martinez would be major additions to the Habs back end, and could help solidify the team’s blue line for years to come.

But while free agency is a major part of the Canadiens’ off-season plans, the team is also looking to make some significant trades in the coming months. With a surplus of young talent and a number of picks in the upcoming draft, the Habs are well-positioned to make some bold moves and shake up the NHL landscape.

One player who has been mentioned in trade rumors is Canadiens forward Christian Dvorak, who has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks. With the Habs looking to add some scoring depth to their lineup, Dvorak could be the odd man out, and the team may be willing to part with the talented forward in order to bring in some more established talent.

As for who the Canadiens might target in a trade, one player who has been mentioned is the Arizona Coyotes’ Nick Schmaltz. A talented forward with a proven track record of scoring, Schmaltz would be a major addition to the Habs lineup, and could help the team make a serious push for the playoffs in 2024-25.

Of course, with all the rumblings surrounding the Canadiens, it’s worth noting that nothing is set in stone. The team may ultimately decide to stand pat and not make any significant moves, opting instead to ride out the season with their current roster. But if the rumblings are true, Habs fans could be in for a wild ride this off-season.
