Based on submissions to PennLive or stats updated on MaxPreps, we have compiled a list of the top defensive stat producers through Week 7. From tackling machines to pass-rushing phenoms, these players are making a significant impact for their teams.
Take a look at the top defensive statistical leaders in the Mid-Penn Conference and see which players are leading the charge in their respective categories.
Tackles
Unsurprisingly, the top tacklers in the Mid-Penn Conference are those who patrol the middle of the field, reading the opposing offense and making the necessary stops. With games still to be played, it will be interesting to see which players can maintain their torrid pace.
Sacks
Pure pass-rushers and do-it-all defensive ends are leading the way in the sack department, with a handful of players already reaching double-digit sack totals.
Interceptions
While not as flashy as some other defensive statistics, players with high interception totals are just as valuable to their teams. They have the ability to turn the tide of a game with one fell swoop, giving their offense the ball in prime position to score.
As the season continues to unfold, these defensive standouts will look to maintain their momentum and propel their teams to victory in the Mid-Penn Conference.
