JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Robert McCray had 19 points in Jacksonville's 64-60 win over North Alabama on Thursday night. The game was a nail-biter, with both teams trading baskets and playing tenacious defense. In the end, it was McCray's impressive performance that made all the difference.
The Dolphins came out strong, with McCray leading the charge. He scored 11 points in the first half, including three 3-pointers, to help Jacksonville take a 32-28 lead into the break. North Alabama refused to back down, however, and the two teams battled it out in the second half.
McCray continued to shine, scoring eight more points in the second half to help Jacksonville maintain its lead. He was aided by his teammates, who played tough defense and made crucial baskets when it mattered most. Despite a late surge by North Alabama, the Dolphins were able to hold on for the win.
The victory was a much-needed boost for Jacksonville, which had struggled in recent games. McCray's performance was a major factor in the win, and his teammates were quick to praise his efforts. 'Robert was amazing tonight,' said one teammate. 'He made some huge shots and really carried us to victory.'
McCray's 19 points were a season high, and he also added five rebounds and three assists to his stat line. His performance earned him praise from his coach, who said, 'Robert played a great game. He's been working hard in practice and it's paying off.'
The win improves Jacksonville's record to 10-5 on the season, while North Alabama falls to 8-7. The Dolphins will look to build on their momentum when they take on their next opponent, while North Alabama will try to bounce back from the tough loss.
