Tennessee Titans Score Big With Number One Pick In 2025 NFL Draft

January 6, 2025

The Tennessee Titans have secured the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, following their loss to the Houston Texans. This loss, combined with the Patriots' victory over the Bills, led to the Titans taking the top spot via the strength of schedule tiebreaker.

The 2025 NFL Draft order has been partially determined, with the top four picks going to the Titans, Browns, Giants, and Patriots, in that order. The Titans finished the season with a record of 3-14, which matched the Browns and Giants for the worst in the league. The Patriots, who had a chance to claim the top spot with a loss to the Bills, fell to the fourth pick after their victory.

The Browns needed both the Patriots and Titans to win their respective matchups on Sunday to obtain the top pick, but will instead have the number two pick. The Giants, who lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, will have the number three pick.

The rest of the top 18 picks will be finalized later, with the remainder of the first round being determined throughout the playoffs. The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 24, and will run through Saturday, April 26. The first round will be held on Day 1, with Rounds 2-3 on Day 2, and Rounds 4-7 on Day 3.

The draft will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC, and streamed on the ESPN App. It will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with the main festivities taking place at Lambeau Field and the Titletown campus. With the number one pick, the Titans may be looking to draft a wide receiver or cornerback, and could potentially get both with the selection of Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter.

Hunter, who played both positions in college, is projected by many to be the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. His versatility would give the Titans some flexibility, and he could potentially focus on either side of the ball in the NFL. For teams looking for a quarterback, Hunter's Colorado teammate Shedeur Sanders is presumed to be the best available in the draft.

Sanders, the son of Football Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, had an impressive season, throwing for 4,137 yards and 37 touchdowns. Other top prospects include Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter, Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham, and LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell.

The 2025 NFL Draft promises to be an exciting event, with many talented players available for selection. The Titans, with the number one pick, will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their team, and potentially set themselves up for success in the upcoming season.
