Gwen Stefani's announcement to exit The Voice has left fans in shock, but the reason behind her decision will tug at your heartstrings. The No Doubt singer, who has been a coach on the popular singing competition for several seasons, confessed that she's been feeling emotional and it's taking a toll on her family life.
"I've been crying a lot this season," Stefani revealed in an interview. When asked what triggered the tears, Stefani didn't hold back. The constant negativity from the show's grueling competition and the intense pressure on contestants have left her feeling drained and feeling the absence of her family more than ever.
Stefani, who is married to country singer Blake Shelton and has three sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, explained that her family has always been her top priority. However, her duties on The Voice have been making it difficult for her to spend quality time with her loved ones.
"It's hard to explain how much I miss my family when I'm on the show. The long recording hours and the time away from home take a toll on me. I miss bedtime stories with my kids and romantic dinners with Blake," Stefani said.
As a devoted wife and mother, Stefani has made the tough decision to prioritize her family and step aside from The Voice. Although she will be deeply missed by her fans and fellow coaches, her decision is understandable.
Since her marriage to Shelton in 2021, Stefani has become more selective about her projects, choosing those that allow her to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The couple has been open about their desire to start a family together and it seems that Stefani is taking the necessary steps to make that happen.
Fans can still catch Stefani on the current season of The Voice but her exit marks the end of an era. She will always be remembered for her energetic performances, iconic style, and, of course, her stint as a coach on the show.
As one of the most beloved coaches in the show's history, Stefani will be deeply missed but her commitment to her family is something that everyone can admire and respect.
